Ada Ruth Batten Hawley July 9, 1927 – January 5, 2015

Ada Ruth Batten Hawley, 87, of Goldsboro, passed away Monday. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Buckhorn UMC Cemetery, Kenly. The Rev. Tim McFatter will officiate.

The family will receive friends Friday, from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m., at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Surviving are two daughters, Evelyn Holloman and husband, Charles of Suffolk, VA, and Annette Kennedy and Jeff Vencil of Fremont; three sons, Glenn Allen Hawley and wife, Bonnie of Nahunta, Donnie Russell Hawley and wife, Janice of Rosewood, and Thomas Wayne Hawley and wife, Shelia of Princeton; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Allen Hawley, a daughter, Linda Sue Hawley Lamm, and her parents, Robert and Niece Bass Batten.
