Alan Wayne Kersey
February 15, 1944 – April 12, 2017
Alan Wayne Kersey, 73, of Wilson went to be with his Heavenly Lord and Savior on Wednesday. His funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Pastor Elwood Long and Pastor Jeff Smith will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:45 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.
Alan was a US Navy Vietnam Veteran that served on the USS Enterprise with honor and pride. He was retired from Purina Mills. Alan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Alan is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Becky Temple Kersey of the home; his son, Timothy Wayne Kersey and wife, Valerie of Wilson; daughter, Wanda Kersey Raper and husband, Robert of Wilson; his grandchildren, Amanda Raper, Daniel Kersey, and Amber Edwards; his sister, Janice Hawley of Wilson, and his nephew, Marty Pennington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Franklin Kersey and Aileen Thorne Kersey.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be directed in Alan’s memory to Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church, 5843 Shiloh Church Road, Wilson, North Carolina 27896.
