Alice Love Bailey Harrison

Alice Love Bailey Harrison January 3, 1939 – September 15, 2017 Alice Love Bailey Harrison, 78, of Wilson passed away Friday. A celebration of her life will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 100 West Green Street, Wilson. A short visitation will follow in the fellowship hall. The family will hold a private burial later in the day. Alice was born in Wayne County to William Bryant and Sarah Johnson Bailey. She attended East Carolina University where she studied early childhood education. Alice taught in several schools across North Carolina at the elementary level. She went on to teach teachers at Elizabeth City State University, East Carolina University and the University of North Carolina Charlotte where she retired. After which, Alice relocated to Wilson to be close to family. She was very active in First United Methodist Church in Wilson. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Tom Shreve; nephew, Bill Shreve and wife, Lisa of Wilson; nieces, Patti Pool and husband, John of Wilmington and Gena Jones and husband, Jim of Raleigh, and a very special friend, Anson Sharpe.
