Altha Jean Warren Langston June 16, 1932 – May 16, 2014

Altha Jean Warren Langston, 81, of Wilson passed away Friday while surrounded by her family and friends. A funeral service will be held 6 p.m. Sunday evening at Joyner’s Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted 3 p.m. Monday in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Dr. Doug Murray will officiate.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.

Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all that she knew. She was greatly loved, she will be missed by all that knew her and will be thought of often with memories that will warm the heart. Jean taught at Springfield Middle School and retired with thirty-five years in education.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Sharon Langston of Wilson, and Kelly Lindsey and husband, Mike of Wilson, and her granddaughters, Megan and Madison Lindsey, both of Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Lassiter Langston; her parents, John and Flora Warren, and her ten sisters and brothers.
