Alton Ray Radford
March 29, 1939 – September 1, 2015
Alton “Ray” Radford, 76, of Wilson passed away Tuesday. His graveside service will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson with Masonic Rites. The Rev. LaVon Phillips will officiate.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, and other times at the home.
Ray was a member of the Wilson County Shrine Club, Sudan Temple, Wilson Lodge #712 and was an avid golfer at Happy Valley Country Club.
Ray is survived by his wife of forty plus years, Lynnette L. Radford of the home; his daughter, Angel Nicole Radford of Black Creek and Erin Hughes Harris of Wilson, who was considered a daughter; his grandsons, Trenton Lee Mitchell and Colton William Andrews; his granddaughters, Jamie Tyndall and Jeri Edwards; brother-in-law, Bobby Lambert and wife, Vickie, and special friends, Johnnie and Charlie Whitley.
He was preceded in death by his son, Alton Ray Radford, Jr. and his parents, Marvin James Radford and Bertha Gilbert Radford.
