Angela Johnson Woodruff

Angela Johnson Woodruff June 6, 1937 – June 21, 2017 Angela Johnson Woodruff, 80, of Elm City passed away Wednesday. Her funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Peace Church, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Rusty Russell and Rev. Brian Tippett will officiate. The family will receive friends 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at her daughter’s home, 7313 Shallington’s Mill Rd, Macclesfield. Angela is survived by her daughters, Yvonne Gardner and husband, John of Macclesfield, Joyce Sutton and husband, Ron of Wilson; son, Ray Woodruff of North Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Laura Martin and husband, Clark, Victoria Gardner and husband, Kevin, Bryan Woodruff, Adam Gardner and wife, Pam, Eva Smithwick and husband, Aaron, Ronnie L. Sutton, Jr., Stacy Woodruff Bedford, Brandon Woodruff and Bridgette Woodruff; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Allen of Wilson; brothers, Willie Johnson of Middlesex and Garland Johnson of Lake Royal; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernice Ray Woodruff; son, Bernice Wayne Woodruff; parents, Willie and Ora Mae Johnson; sisters, Doris Woodard, Mary Helen Hales, and Virginia Moye.
