Anne Harrell Hondros
February 2, 1942 - March 6, 2018
Ann Harrell Hondros, 76 of Rocky Mount passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018.
Anne was born to William and Bessie, February 2, 1942, in Wilson. She graduated from Rocky Mount Senior High High in 1960 and furthered her education with degrees from Louisburg and Atlantic Christian College. Anne married George Hondros in 1968 and they lived together in Charleston, South Carolina for fifteen years before returning to Wilson where together they raised two children. Anne was an x-ray tech at Wilson Memorial Hospital until she retired in 2007 and she was passionate about affecting the most positive change in people.
She leaves as her legacy her loved children and grandchildren; son, Steven, daugther, Melissa and her granddaughters, Alex and Lauren, and thee beloved sisters, Judith, Jean and Billy Kay. Anne’s children will remember her as a kind, loving, smart, religious, and a family driven mother.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of forty-nine years, George; her parents, William and Bessie, and her sister, Winnie Gail.
Anne’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Asera Care Hospice, especially, Tanisha Mayo, Dr. Jonathon Dewald, and the greatest members of St. Timothy’s who brought communion to her every Sunday.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 202 N. Goldsboro Street E, Wilson. The Rev. Marty Stebbins will officiate. A reception will follow in Anderson Hall.
