Annie Mae Davis

October 24, 1934 – January 10, 2022

Annie Mae Davis, 87, of Wilson passed away Monday. A Celebration of Life will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and are welcome to pay respects prior to the service Wednesday afternoon. Interment will be held at a later date in Douglasville, Georgia.

One of Mae’s favorite pass time activities was crocheting, she also loved embroidery. Over her lifetime she raised seven children and took in many others to love and raise as her own. Mae worked three and four jobs almost her entire life and retired from Cobb County Board of Education as the lunchroom manager. She loved to garden and had a passion for bringing plants back to life. Mae also loved to watch the white snow when it would fall in the wintertime.

Mae is survived by her seven children; Leroy Spencer Davis, Larry Michael Davis, Phillip Kirk Davis, Joseph Hub Davis, Carolyn Melinda Davis, Terri Lynn Davis Gray and William Boyd Davis; twenty grandchildren, Tara Lee, Chandla Dawn, Amanda Christina, Jeremy Spencer, Larry Michael Jr., Rusty Wayne, Andy Kirk, Jolene Nichole, Joseph Brent, Tiffany Ann, Charlie Brantley, Crystal Lynn, David Michael, Elizabeth Carolyn, Joseph Conrad, Jacqueline Victoria, Aubrey Leigh Ann, Kimberly Alyssa, Isabella Olivia and Hanna Brooke and forty two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Spencer Davis; parents, James Noah and Alma Edna Young; siblings, Francis Milton, Billy Young and Edna Adams and great grandson, Cody Lane Reid.
