Annie Morris Thorne Joyner

February 7, 1932 – February 10, 2014

  Annie Morris Thorne Joyner, 82, of Wilson passed away Monday.  Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at Joyner’s Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.  The Rev. Gary Walling and the Rev. Ray Wells will officiate. The family will receive friends 7 – 9 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway. Annie Morris graduated from Atlantic Christian College and taught for over thirty years in the Wilson County School System.  She loved her family, playing bridge with her friends, arts and crafts and she truly loved her golden retriever, Buddy.  Annie Morris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to all.  She will be greatly missed and thought of often with love. Annie Morris is survived by her husband, Joseph “Joe” Iredell Joyner; her daughters, MaryKathryn Joyner Quinn of Wilson and Jo Anne Joyner Dreitzler of Raleigh; her son, Joseph Iredell “Dell” Joyner, Jr. and wife, Michelle of Wilson; her grandchildren, Cameron Johnson and husband, Randall of Raleigh, Paige Barnhill and husband, Todd of Bailey, Annie Dreitzler, Zachary Dreitzler and Nicholas Dreitzler, all of Raleigh, and Jake William Joyner of Wilson; her great-grandchildren, Gavin Johnson and Kathryn “Kate” Johnson, both of Raleigh; her sister, Lula Moehrbach and husband, Rudy of Wilson; and her brother, Marvin Thorne of Clearwater Beach, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Carl Thorne and Mary Elizabeth Baker Thorne, her sister, Ethel Thorne Boswell, and her brothers, Edwin C. Thorne, John J. Thorne, and J.D. Thorne.
