Arthur Vernon Batts October 29, 1927 – May 2, 2017 Arthur Vernon Batts, 89, of Elm City passed away Tuesday. His funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m.  Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.  The Rev. Luke Long will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 – 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Vernon is survived by his sons, John Batts and wife, Renee of Bailey, Brian Batts and wife, Esperanza of Clayton, and Greg Batts of Elm City, and his granddaughters, Tina Myatt and husband, Brandon of Raleigh, Theresa Scott and husband, Wes of Clayton; Rachael Dicicco and husband, Dave of Tennessee; five great-grandchildren, Xavier, Lilly, Joe, Caroline, and Roman, and eleven sisters and brothers.
