Asa “Sonny” Edward Bishop III, 65, of Wilson passed away Saturday.  A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson.  The Rev. Johnny Sullivan will officiate. The family will receive friends 7 – 9 Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of Kristi Collier. Sonny was a loving father, grandfather and friend to all that knew him.  He was loved and will be thought of often with memories that will warm the heart. Sonny is survived by his daughter, Kristi Collier and husband, Jeffrey of Wilson and his granddaughter, Jana Gray Collier of Wilson. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jaycee Gray Collier and his parents, Bud Bishop, Jr. and Catherine.
