Aubrey Leon Moore
August 21, 1952 – May 18, 2021
Aubrey Leon Moore, 68 of Wilson passed away Tuesday. A private, family graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 22nd, in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. The Reverend Wayne Whitley will officiate.
Aubrey was a loving son, brother, uncle, and cousin, building his life around his family, keeping them close always. He was co-owner of Moore’s Body Shop in Wilson, serving the community for his entire life’s work and could often be found cracking a joke, sharing a smile, or lending a hand. Uncle Aubrey, as his most precious nieces and nephews called him, loved this life and is surely celebrating in Heaven. Aubrey Moore never met a stranger, always showed up on Saturdays with candy, told the best stories at bedtime, and will surely be missed as the old, banjo soul of the Wild Wild West.
Aubrey is survived his brothers, Eric Moore of Raeford and David Moore and wife, Joanie of Wilson; nieces, Betsy Moore Berndt and husband, Martin, and Amy Moore Boyette, and his nephews, David Moore, Jr. and wife, Joy and Josh Moore. He leaves behind seven great nieces and nephews, all who share the legacy this family man leaves behind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie S. Moore and Frank Leon “Bud” Moore.
Condolences directed to Joyner’s Funeral Home and Crematory at www.joyners.net.
