Barbara Williams Batts
May 4, 1933 – June 9, 2016
Barbara Williams Batts, 83, of Elm City, passed away Thursday. Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Gene Wells will officiate.
The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the residence.
Barbara was a retired third grade teacher for Wilson County Schools. She was a loving person, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of sixty-five years, Vernon Batts of the home; her sons, John Batts of Bailey, Brian Batts of Clayton, and Greg Batts of Elm City; her granddaughters, Tina Batts, Theresa B. Scott, and Rachel Diccico; great-grandchilren, Xavier Khurshid, Lilli and Joe Myatt; her sister, Polly Cox of Elm City, and brother, Bruce Williams of Greenville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Betty Pridgen Williams; sister, Libby Taylor, and brother, Warren Williams.
