Barbara Carlisle Edwards

Barbara Carlisle Edwards August 30, 1946 – February 17, 2017   Barbara Carlisle Edwards, 70, of Lucama passed away Friday. Her funeral will be held at    4 p.m. Sunday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson.  The Rev. Benny Poythress will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 – 3:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of Johnny and Heather Mozingo.  Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to all that knew her. She was a very strong woman that loved her family and all their time together.  She was excellent seamstress that retired after several years from CrafTex.  Barbara was dearly loved and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Barbara is survived by her husband, Edward Edwards of the home; her daughters, Lora Hall, and Tammy Finn and husband, Sparky both of Lucama; her granddaughters, Heather Mozingo and husband, Johnny of Lucama, Brittany Pierce of Wilson, Stephanie Talton, and Kali Woodruff both of Lucama; her great-grandchildren, Damian, Johnathan, Christiana, Jayden, Bentley, Haley Mae, and Khloe; her step-daughter, Tammy Smith and husband, Jimmy of Edward; step-son, James Edwards and wife, Joann of Vernal Utah; her step-grandchildren, Travis Farmer of Wilson, Jeff Sprague, and Jennifer Sprague both of Vernal, Utah, Corina Edwards of Idaho; step-great-grandchildren, Emily Smith, and Megan Smith both of Edward; her sisters, Joann Edwards and husband, Russell, of Lucama, Debbie Skinner and husband, Bobby of Wilson, and Rachel Griffin and husband, Tommy of Wilson; her brother, Eddie Carlisle and wife, Patricia of Fremont, several nieces and nephews, and her loving pets, Pee-Wee and Kitty. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Lee Smith; her parents, Marshall Carlisle and Lillie Mae Mitchell, and her brother, Larry Carlisle.  Condolences may be directed to Joyner’s Funeral Home at www.joyners.net.
