Barbara Whitehead Finch

September 26, 1939 – July 28, 2014

Barbara “Mama” Whitehead Finch, 74, of Wilson passed away Monday.  Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home with Jerry Finch officiating.  The graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at 4304 Blazing Star Lane. Barbara touched many lives during the times she worked for Western Siizzling Steak House and The Mayflower Seafood Restaurant.  She was member of Bailey United Methodist Church.  Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her, she was loved and will be greatly missed and thought of often with loving memories. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Lori Finch and husband, Art of Wilson; her granddaughter, Brittney Lea Finch; her grandson, Cody Edward Finch and wife, Alyse; her sisters-in-law; Elaine Whitehead of Wilson, Carolyn Vick of Elm City, Judy Finch and husband, Lamar of Kinston and Chris Johnson of Florida and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert “Daddy Gene” Finch in 2009; her parents, Jack Whitehead, Daisy Langley Whitehead Rose and Garland Rose and her brother, Frank Whitehead.
