Barbara Bass Galloway
February 13, 1936 – December 4, 2019
Barbara Bass Galloway, 83 of Wilson passed away Wednesday. Her funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Her brother, Rev. Billy Bass and brother-in-law, Rev. Earl Swinson will officiate.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 1 – 2:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Barbara had a home childcare center for forty years, where each child was loved and cared for as her own. She was a wonderful and giving person with her time and love. Working outside was her favorite way to pass time. Barbara was a devoted and loving mother, nana, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed and thought of often with memories that will warm the heart.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Lori G. Baker and husband, Ray of Nashville; son, Robbie Galloway and wife, Christy of Rock Ridge; grandchildren, Courtney Galloway, Ty Galloway, Zach Baker and Mason Baker; sister, Susie Swinson and husband, Earl of Fayetteville and her brother, Billy Bass and wife, Lois of Roseboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin “Doc” Galloway; parents, John and Leona Durham Bass; sisters, Gladys Barnes and Evelyn Bailey and her brothers, Russell Bass and Cecil Bass.
