Bernice Hooks Hagan
July 24, 1936 – August 5, 2017
Bernice Hooks Hagan, 81, of Wilson passed away Saturday. Her funeral will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Tommy Hagan will officiate.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of her daughter, Carolyn, 6455 Chadwick Road, Elm City.
Bernice is survived by her husband, Rev. Richard T. “Tommy” Hagan of the home; her daughter, Carolyn Hagan of Elm City; her sons, Richard Thomas “Ricky” Hagan, Jr. and wife, Cheryl of Rocky Mount, and Robbie Hendricks and wife, Barbara of Nashville; her grandchildren, Rebecca Nichols, Mandy Dew, Chris Hagan, Shannon Horne, Brittany Jackson, Brooke Hendricks, Taylor Kennedy, Chad Hendricks, and Heather Jett; her great-grandchildren, Ryan Mooring, Brandon Tucker, Destiny Dew, Skylar Horne, Cheyenne Riley, Carter Horne, and Brooklyn Watkins, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and four brothers.
