Betty Cherry Cowan

Betty Cherry Cowan December 30, 1944 – March 29, 2017 Betty Cherry Cowan, 72, of Wilson passed away Wednesday. A celebration of Betty’s life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at West Nash United Methodist Church, Wilson.  The Rev. Stuart Milton will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Betty was born in Washington and graduated from Washington High School in 1963 and from East Carolina College in 1967 with a degree in education. Betty retired in 2007 from BB&T.  She was an active and beloved member of West Nash United Methodist Church. Betty is survived by her sons, Bill Cowan and wife, Amy of Charlotte, and Bob Cowan of Goldsboro, and her grandsons, Zach Cowan of Charlotte, and Shepherd Cowan of Goldsboro. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles William and Isabelle Cherry, and her step-father, Pete Coltrain.
