Betty Jean Joyner Barnes
September 9, 1937 – March 12, 2021
Betty Jean Joyner Barnes, 83 of Wilson passed away Friday. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Ricky Nelms will officiate. Out of respect for others, mask are required and practice social distance.
The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 12 – 1:30 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Betty Jean is survived by her daughter, Donna Barnes Corbett of Kenly; sons, “Tommy” Barnes and wife, Betty of Wilson, and Rodner Allan Barnes of Wilson; granddaughter, Caitlyn Corbett White and husband, Beau of Durham; grandsons, Allen Corbett and wife, Lindsay of Middlesex, Christopher Allan Barnes and wife, Laura of Kenly, and Brandon Barnes and wife, Amber of Black Creek; great-grandchildren, Charlotte Corbett, Ava Grace Barnes, Allie Barnes, Emily Barnes, Aaron Barnes, and Alaina Barnes; great-grandsons, Hudson Corbett, Jace Barnes, and Nathan Barnes, and her sisters, Shirley Barnes of Elm City, Allice Godwin of Wilson, and Lois Reif and husband, Ronnie of Chicago, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Barnes; son, Douglas Nathan Barnes, and her grandson, Bo Barnes.
