Betty Johnson Rutledge

Betty Johnson Rutledge, 83 of Wilson passed away Friday.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.  Rev. Wayne Whitley will officiate.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 1 – 1:45 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Betty graduated from Lucama High School in 1957, after graduating she worked for the Wilson County Health Department, and retiring after thirty-five and half years.  Betty enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She was a devoted Christian that served her Lord faithfully.  She loved her church family and studying the Bible.

Betty is survived by her nephews, Marty R. Johnson and wife, Cathy, and George Daniel Johnson and wife, Mary; great-nieces, Megan Lamm and husband, Shaun and Holly Johnson; great-nephew, William Tyler Johnson and wife, Carolina, and her great-great nephews, Connor and Luke.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby R. Johnson, and George Carlton Johnson.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to Marais Sanchez, Martha Arizpe, Karlie Daniel and the Sunshine Agency as well as Hospice of Wilson for their care, compassion and love given to Betty.
