Betty Rice Weaver

Betty Rice Weaver November 29, 1932 – November 22, 2018 Betty Rice Weaver, 85 of Wilson passed away Thursday. Her funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. The Pastor John Drosendahl will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12 – 12:45 p.m. Betty was born at home on Lipscomb Road to Henry and Mittie Rice. She was the store manager and buyer for Carolina Office Products for over fifty years. Betty was a member of BPW and past president. She loved to garden, sew, cook, decorate and entertain. Betty was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Betty is survived by her daughters, Debra W. Carter of Wilson and Lynne W. Bracken and husband, Randall of Wilson; granddaughters, Melanie Starke Safir and husband, Jesse of Carrboro and Elizabeth Carter Daniel and husband, Derek of Zebulon; grandsons, Bryan Edward Starke of Raleigh, Henry Lee Carter and wife, Fawn of Raleigh and Gerald Edward Warren, Jr. of Black Creek and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Whitney James Weaver.
