Billy Ray Wells
November 13, 1944 – October 9, 2017
Billy Ray Wells, 72, of Sims passed away Monday. His funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson and the family request that EVERYONE DRESS CASUAL. A private burial service will be held at a later date for the family. The Rev. Anderson Barnes will officiate.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the residence.
Billy was owner/operator of Wells Bulldozer and Land Clearing service for 25 years.
Billy is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sue Perry Wells of the home; daughter, Ann Roberts and husband, Logan of Smithfield; sons, Donald Ray Wells and Lee Wells and wife, Tracy all of Sims; granddaughters, Addison Wells, Molly Roberts and Katie Roberts; grandsons, Austin Wells and Brandon Wells; brother, Freddie Wells and wife, Mary of East Palatka, Florida; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guilford Lee and Edna Wells; sisters, Beatrice Williams and Sadie Barnes; brother, Bobby Wells.
