Bobby Ray Roberson July 27, 1947 – October 5, 2019 Bobby Ray Roberson, 72 of Elm City passed away Saturday. His funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Elm City. Rev. Wayne Whitley will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 5 – 6:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home. Bobby was owner and operator of his own plumbing business for over forty years. He voluntarily served his country with honor and pride with the Navy Seabees from 1966 – 1972 and served two tours in DaNang, Vietnam. Bobby was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Faye Roberson of the home; daughters, Karen Whitman and husband, Melvin of Elm City, B.J. Roberson and husband, Ronnie of Elm City, Debbie Roberson of Elm City, Linda Stallings and husband, Greg of Wilson and Brenda Bryant and husband, Mickey of Middlesex; son, Allen Roberson and wife, Candy of Elm City; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Myrtle Creech and husband, Donnie of Kenly; brother, Carney Roberson, Jr. and wife, Sue of Ayden and sister-in-law, Diane Roberson of Kenly. He was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Troy Lee Whitman and Dylan Stallings; parents, Ida Belle Whitley Roberson and Carney Roberson, Sr. and his brothers, Stevie Roberson and Shorty Roberson.
