Bobby Gene Waddell
February 9, 1937 – January 9, 2015
Bobby Gene Waddell, 77, of Lucama passed away Friday. His funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Waddell Family Cemetery, Spring Hill Church Road. The Rev. Paul E. Tedder will officiate.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home and other times at the home of his son, Greg and Amy Waddell, 6011 Wiggins Mill Road, Lucama.
Bobby was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend; his heart was full of love and hope for his grandchildren, they were his pride and joy. He was a member of the Bailey Church of God where he served his Lord. Bobby was retired from Alignment Service where he worked for over fifty years as an alignment specialist. Bobby loved to rabbit hunt with his family especially his son, Greg, his grandchildren and nephew, Jackie, Jr. You could always count on finding him outside with his beagles or on the tractor. He was from a large family with strong bonds where he was always the one with the best joke or the biggest smile. Bobby will be greatly missed and thought of often with memories that will make you smile.
Bobby is survived by his son, Greg Waddell and wife, Amy of Lucama; his granddaughters, Samantha Waddell, Jessica Waddell and Trista Waddell; grandson, Chase Waddell; his sisters, Joyce Brantley and husband, Melvin of Deep Run, Faye Perry and husband, Bobby of Sims, Brenda Crocker and husband, Jimmy of Lucama; and Linda Boykin and husband, Joe of Wilson, and his brothers, Billy Waddell of Wilson, Jimmy Waddell of Bailey, Jackie Waddell and wife, Peggy of Wilson and Jerry Waddell and wife, Priscilla of Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Keith Waddell; his parents, Marvin and Estelle Barbee Waddell and his brother, Rudolph Waddell.
