Brenda Joyner Whitley Smoot November 12, 1944 – January 27, 2020 Brenda Joyner Whitley Smoot, 75 of Lucama passed away Monday. Her memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Wilson. Pastor Jack Keel will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday afternoon following the service at First Baptist Church, 311 Nash Street, Wilson and other times at her son’s home, Todd Whitley. Brenda is survived by her sons, Todd Whitley and wife, Lourdes of Wilson and Paul Whitley of Wilson; grandsons, Joshua Whitley of Wilson and fiancé, Megan Lundsford and Shea Whitley of Wilson; great-granddaughter, Caroline Whitley of Wilson; sister, Kaye Anderson and several loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston Carl Joyner and Lula Nichols Joyner; sister, Jeri Barnes and brother, Donnie Joyner.
