Bryce was a wonderful husband, father and a great mentor to his sons. He grew up on a small farm just outside of Bailey in Nash County. He attended Bailey High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army in Japan after the conclusion of WWII. He married Clara Etheridge in 1955 and they enjoyed 59 years of marriage until her death in 2014. He was an electrician and worked for Watson Electric as a job superintendent for 39 years until his retirement in 1989. He was known for being very particular about how the electrical work was to be done and he was a beloved mentor to many aspiring electricians. He enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting. Another passion he had was working in the garden, often sharing the vegetables with family and friends. He loved to laugh and had a gift for telling jokes to make others laugh. Bryce was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church and enjoyed participating in activities there.
Bryce is survived by his sons, Bryce Edward Eatmon, Jr and wife, Marcia and James Clark Eatmon and wife, Cathy; grandchildren, Sharon Eatmon Mattheisen and husband, Jake, Bryce Edward Eatmon, III and wife, Ashley, Christin Eatmon Britt and husband, Michael and Melissa Nicole Eatmon; great-grandchildren, Finn Mattheisen, Owen Mattheisen, Kori Eatmon and Kodi Eatmon; sisters, Eldie Eatmon Strickland and Betty Eatmon Walston.
