Carol Walls, 74 of Wilson passed away peacefully on January 22, 2022, surrounded by her family after a long courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Pastor Reggie Etheridge will officiate.

The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 10 – 10:45 a.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, and other times at the home.

Carol was born in Wilmington on January 11 in 1948 but loved calling Wilson home. She was a loving woman of faith and attended Wave Church of Wilson. Carol was a champion of Senior Citizens, she worked for Meals on Wheels and the Brian Center. She loved her Wave Church of Wilson family and was a prayer warrior for many people around the world. Her greatest accomplishment in her eyes was her family and she was most proud of her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of fifty-three years, Luther Walls, they were high school sweethearts and no one loved Luther more than his “Tussy”; daughter, Susan Blake and husband, Jason of Garner; sons, Adam Walls and wife, Miranda of Wilson, and Blake Walls and wife, Misty of Pine Level; grandchildren, Alyssa Walls, Madalyn Walls, Hannah Walls, Chloe Walls, Layla Walls, and Luke Walls, and her sisters, Ruth Aycock and husband, Jerry of Wilson, and Charlene Lucas and husband, Blaine of Bailey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Retha Setzer; sister, Marjorie Sullivan, and her brother, George Setzer.
