Carrie Woodruff Bridgers
August 17, 1929 – March 17, 2014
Carrie W. Bridgers, 84, of Wilson passed away peacefully surrounded by her children, Monday. A funeral service will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. The Rev. John Norman and Rev. Dan Hensley, Jr. will officiate. The family will receive friends 7 – 9 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at 2001 Noland Road, Wilson. Carrie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to all that knew her. Carrie was an outstanding and loyal employee for Atlantic Christian College for forty plus years. Her family and their time together were very special for her and she loved to travel with her close friends. Carrie is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Bridgers Pike of Wilson and Wanda Bridgers Sutton of Elm City; her son, Mickey Bridgers and wife, Pat of Four Oaks; her grandchildren, Tommy Pike, Greyson Pike Keen, Natalie Sutton, Jeremy Sutton, Elizabeth Bridgers Liles and Heath Bridgers; her great-grandchildren, Ty, Madison and Blaize Keen, Ashlyn Pike, Andrew, Joey and Christopher Liles; her sister, Virginia Woodruff Bunn and husband, Robert of Wilson; her brothers, Johnny Woodruff and wife, Brenda of Wilson, Bobby Woodruff and wife, Diane of Kernersville, Donnie Woodruff and wife, Joyce of Castalia, and her sisters-in-law, Barbara Bridgers Turner and husband, Ray of Wilson and Angelia Hope Bridgers of Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Harrison Bridgers; her parents, Ernest B. and Clyde Dawson Woodruff; her sisters, Cora Fay Woodruff Holmes, Virginia Ray Woodruff and Sue Woodruff Coughlin and her brothers, Bernice Ray Woodruff, Billy Day Woodruff and Ernest B.
