Charles Matthew McKeel

Charles Matthew “Mack” McKeel, 93, of Wilson passed away Sunday. His funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Richard Cuddington, Jr. and Rev. Billy Toler will officiate.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 – 2 p.m. prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.
Mack is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Jacqueline Thompson “Jackie” McKeel of the home; his sons, Mike McKeel and wife, Jane of Wilson, and Greg McKeel and wife, Cindy of Wilson; his granddaughters, Rachel Wellborn of Forest City and Sara Jane Flood of Sharpsburg; his grandson, Quinton McKeel of Forest City; great-grandchildren, Zack, Zander, Zayley, Ethan and Aaron; his sisters, Ruby Dean Taylor of Stantonsburg and Rita Carol Chase of Eureka, and a brother, Ray McKeel of Carlton, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna McKeel; his parents, James and Mary McKeel; his sisters, Louis Bell, and Alice Holland, and his brothers, Eugene McKeel, Frederick McKeel, and Kinchen McKeel.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials in Charles’ honor be made to the First Free Will Baptist Church, 4865 Nash Street, Wilson, North Carolina 27896.
