Charles Andrew Murphy

Charles Andrew Murphy April 4, 1961 – December 21, 2016 Charles Andrew Murphy, 55, of Sims passed away Wednesday. His funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Sharon Eldridge will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 – 9 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home. Charlie was a longtime manager at Firestone Complete Auto Care in Wilson, where he enjoyed his team members and customers. Charlie was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, brother and a friend to all that knew him. His family, wife and sons were the joy of his life. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Charlie is survived by his loving wife of thirty years, Tammy Pierce Murphy of the home; his sons, Dylan Pierce Murphy and wife, April of Sims, and Hayden Charles Murphy of Sims; sisters, Kathleen M. Heicher and husband, Edwin of New Bern, and Maureen M. Ryder and husband, Jim of Clayton; his brothers, Brian Murphy and wife, Jennifer of Spotsylvania, Virginia, and Thomas Murphy and wife, Mary of Sudbrook, Maryland; his in-laws, Bruce and Sonya Pierce, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Charles Murphy and Cecelia Conklin Murphy.
