Charles Wilton Thorne October 11, 1928 – February 23, 2018 Charles Wilton Thorne, 89, of Wilson passed away Friday. His funeral will be conducted at 6 p.m. Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Inurnment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Tim McFatter will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Wilton is survived by his son, Tony E. Thorne of Wilson and fiancé, Jodi Finch; grandson, Michael H. Thorne of Wilson; granddaughter, Scarlett Sellers of Wilson; great-granddaughter, Lilly Thorne of Wilson; his nieces, Kim Thorne and her children, Linda Gibbs, and Julia Perry; his nephews, Rodney Glover and wife, Annette and their children, Tom Thorne and wife, Debbie and their children, Steve Glover, and Tim Glover. He was preceded in death by his parents, Branch and Nettie Thorne; his brother, James Earl Thorne, and his sister, Margarite Glover.
