Charlie Earl Batts
June 14, 1941 – March 24, 2017
Charlie Earl Batts, 75, of Wilson passed away Friday. His funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Union Chapel FWB Church, 10748 Bissette Road, Middlesex. Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery. The Rev. Daniel Lancaster and the Rev. Kenneth Wagnon will officiate.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Hall Batts of the home; daughters, Wendy Batts Daniels and husband, Mike of Raleigh; Crystal Batts Hardison and husband, Woody of Clayton; granddaughters, Sarah Daniels of Raleigh; Macy Hardison of Clayton; grandsons, Corey Daniels of Raleigh, Asa Hardison of Clayton; sisters, Corine Brantley of Virginia, Irene Measley and husband, Gerald of Wilson: brothers, Junior Batts and wife, Helen of Wilson, James Batts and wife, Shirley of Sims; and special sister-in-law, Virginia Babcock and husband, Bill of Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Demas and Shellie Messer Batts; brother, Howard Batts.
