Charlie Alvin Joyner

Charlie Alvin Joyner, 75, of Bailey passed away Wednesday. His funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Bailey Town Cemetery, Bailey. Pastor Darrel Davis, Pastor Jim Robertson and Pastor Pam Denton will officiate.
The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.
Alvin operated Joyner’s Convenience Store in Bailey for 41 years; formerly known as the Pantry.
Alvin is survived by his loving wife, Wanda House Joyner, of the home; his daughters, Jamie Massey of Zebulon and Lori Ann Joyner of Jacksonville; his son, Rodney Joyner of Pine Level; grandchildren, Taylor and Hannah Joyner and Madison and Chloe Massey; sisters, Doris Phinizy of Rocky Mount, Barbara Liles, Becky Williams and Alice Joyner of Sims; also his beloved pets Maci and Dillion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Thomas Joyner and Mildred Anna Whitley; son, William Joyner; brothers, Thomas Ray, Carl Lee and Mac Joyner; and his beloved pet, Angel.
