August 16, 1921 – June 7, 2014

Christine Whitley Carraway, 92, of Middlesex passed away Saturday.  Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday at Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church, 14518 Taylors Mill Road, Middlesex.  Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery, Middlesex.  The Rev. Kenneth Benton and Rev. Terry Freeman will officiate. The family will receive friends 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at Jane’s home. Christine was a loving person and friend to all that knew her, she will be greatly missed and thought of often.  Her smile will continue to touch those that loved her. Christine is survived by her daughter, Jane Carraway Ferrell of Middlesex; her granddaughter, Joy Bauer and husband, Greg of Middlesex; her grandson, Tony Eugene Ferrell and wife, Dusty of Selma; her great-granddaughter, Marguerite Eva Ferrell of Selma; her great-grandson, Bryan Eugene Ferrell of Fuquay Varina; her sisters-in-law, Inez Cherry and Barbara Latta both of Wilson, Eloise Johnson of Elm City, Jean Knight of Rocky Mount and Carolyn O’Neal of Tarboro and her brothers-in-law, Jesse Carraway of Elm City and Allen Norris of Tarboro. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Willie Carraway. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be directed to Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church, PO Box 190, Middlesex, NC  27557.
