Christine Gilpin Long, 82, of Lucama passed away Sunday.  A memorial service will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1423 Forest Hills Road, Wilson.  Eugene Newman will officiate. The family will receive friends 3 – 5 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway. Christine is survived by her loving husband, Paul of the home; her sons, Dennis Redmond and wife, Kathy of Raleigh and Gene Redmond and wife, Brenda of Rocky Point; her granddaughters, Rebecca Redmond of Raleigh, Megan Lappin and husband, Jesse of Rocky Point and Allyson Meslin and husband, Matt of Wilson; her grandsons, Jason Redmond and wife, Rebecca of Raleigh, Garrett Redmond of Raleigh, Joel Redmond and Micah Redmond of Rocky Point; her great-grandchildren, Caleb and Hannah Redmond of Raleigh and Addison Lappin of Rocky Point; her step-granddaughter, Stephanie Long of Raleigh and Jennifer Owens and husband, Jeff of Liberty; her sister, Francis Colson of Indiana; her brother, David Gilpin of Tennessee; her son-in-law, Dorsey Buie of Dunn; her step-son, Steven Long and wife, Glenda of Lucama, and her step-daughter, Kathy Sensenig and husband, Ted. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Buie; her parents, Oscar and Roxie Gilpin; her sisters, Peggy, Isabel and Josephine and her brothers, Junior and James.
