Clarence Hopkins
September 18, 1931 – March 14, 2016
Clarence Hopkins, 84, of Wilson passed away Monday. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Maplewood Cemetery. The Rev. Wayne Whitley will officiate.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at the home of Mitch Hopkins.
Clarence was a great fisherman. He was a loving husband, father, PaPa, brother and a friend to all that knew him. Clarence was dearly loved, he will be greatly missed and thought of often.
Clarence is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Joyce Woodard Hopkins of the home; his daughter, Sherry Hopkins Hackney and husband, Doug of Wilson; his son, Mitch Hopkins and wife, Kim of Elm City; granddaughters, Amanda Hopkins Case and husband, Casey, Suzanne G. Hackney, Blair B. Hopkins, and Jordan P. Hopkins, and his sisters, Peggy Bissette and husband, Gerald, and Anna Margaret Hocutt both of Middlesex.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kimmy Hopkins; brother, Elmer Hopkins, and his parents, Arthur and Mettie Lyles Hopkins.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in Clarence’s honor to the Victory FWB Church, 5251 Wiggins Mill Road, Lucama, North Carolina 27851.
