Clarence Gibson Skinner
September 10, 1934 – July 2, 2016
Clarence Gibson Skinner, 81, of Wilson passed away Saturday. His funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2016 at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Zachariah Harris will officiate.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
In 1994, Clarence retired from Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corporation after working for twenty-eight years. Clarence served his country with honor and pride through the U.S. Air Force for five years after serving five years with the Coast Guard. He enjoyed being a beekeeper and making honey, which he loved to share with family and friends. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, playing their games and reading to them. Clarence was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-father, brother and a friend to all that knew him. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
Clarence is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Aileen Skinner of the home; his daughter, Jackie Davis and husband, Mark of Wilson; his sons, Kelly Parker and wife, Elizabeth of Roseville, California, Roger Parker and wife, Cathy of Elm City, and Barry Parker of Wilson; granddaughters, Bracey Parker, Jordan Davis, Brooke Davis all of Wilson, and Meaghan Parker of Roseville, California; his grandsons, Brad Parker, Jeremy Parker, Logan Davis all of Wilson, and Grant Parker of Roseville, California; four great-grandchildren; his sister, Ellen Rogers of Raleigh; brother, Harold Skinner and wife, Nancy of Hickory; his sister-in-law, Tyna Skinner of Lincolnton, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Lillian Skinner, and brother, Edgar Skinner.
