Cleveland Jasper “CJ” Glover, Jr.

Cleveland Jasper “CJ” Glover, Jr, 92, of Wilson peacefully departed this life on September 4, 2017. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Maplewood Cemetery. The Rev. Cliff Lewin will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
CJ was born on July 26, 1925 in Wilson. He was the son of Cleveland Jasper Glover Sr. and Cleopatra Taylor Glover. He graduated from Charles L. Coon High School in Wilson, and attended UNC Chapel Hill. He served his country honorably and faithfully in the Marine Corps in China and the Philippines during WWII. He retired from DuPont in Kinston after 30 years of service.
CJ is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sybil Williamson Glover of Wilson; sister-in-law, Barbara Ann Williamson Kittrell of Wilson; brother-in-law, Thomas C. “Dickie” Williamson, Jr. (Shirley) of Wilson; and several loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Geraldine Glover Peel, Margaret Glover Hicks, and Rachel Glover Paschall; a brother Thomas Harris Glover.
