Cloyd Jacob Shiffer June 19, 1928 – March 4, 2018 Cloyd Jacob Shiffer, 89, of Wilson passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018. The family will receive friends from 10 – 10:45 a.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2512 Nash Street North. The funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 2800 Nash Street NW, Wilson. The Rev. Zachariah Harris, III and the Rev. Keith Dey will officiate. Cloyd was the Vice President and General Manager of Kenly Manufacturing Company in Kenly. Cloyd is survived by Violet W. Shiffer, his wife of seventy-one years; his son, Keith G. Shiffer and wife, JoAnn Shiffer; daughter, Chris S. Boyette and husband, Charles; grandchildren, Erik G. Shiffer and wife, Yvonne, Jennifer S. Wills and husband, Michael, Katherine B. Roland, and husband, Zachary; great-grandchildren, Jackson G. Shiffer, Lane M. Wills, Kate B. Wills, Avery S. Roland, Shepherd B. Roland, and Grace Berkhoudt; his great-great-grandchild, Lilly Berkhoudt; sister, Edna Mae Bonawitz of Halifax, Pennsylvania; his brother, Irvin C. Shiffer of Millersburg, Pennsylvania, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin C. Shiffer, and Mildred F. Shiffer, and his sisters, Gladys S. Rothermal, and Betty S. Matter. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Cloyd’s memory may be directed to Ascension Lutheran Church, Memorial Garden, 2512 Nash Street North, Wilson, North Carolina 27896.
