Colton Parker Barnes

Colton Parker Barnes, 12, of Lucama passed away Wednesday. His funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Spring Hill Presbyterian Church, 7335 Springfield School Road, Lucama. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The Rev. Greg Gregory will officiate.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the residence.
Colton was a happy young man that loved life and everyone he met. His brother and sister were his joy. Colton left this world at a young age to go be with his Lord and serve others in heaven. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed and thought about with memories that will bring smiles to your face and heart.
Colton is survived by his parents, Greg and Kim Barnes; his sister, Bentley Barnes and his brother, Daylon Barnes both of the home; paternal grandparents, Robert and Linda Barnes of Kenly; maternal grandfather, Donald Parker of Lucama; maternal grandmother, Pam Hawley and husband, David of Lucama; his aunts, Nicole Hawley of Lucama, and Shanna Hall and husband, Jon of Fremont; uncle, Robbie Barnes of Kenly; his godmother, Catherine Boswell of Lucama, and his special caregiver, Keith Hayes of Rocky Mount.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Tammy Parker; paternal great-grandparents, Daylon and Ruby Barnes, and Tom and Nona Boswell; maternal great-grandparents, Elmer and Ruby Ballance, and Elwood and Joyce Raper.
