Daisy Carol Ruffin Parnell June 17, 1924 – February 11, 2017 Daisy Carol Ruffin Parnell, 92, of Wilson passed away Saturday. Her funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson.  Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson.  The Rev. Tommy Hagan will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home. Daisy is survived by her daughter, Linda Parnell of the home; her sons, Donnie Parnell and wife, Jeanette of Wilson, and Steve Parnell and wife, Mable of Black Creek; her grandchildren, Donna Critzer and husband, Will, Jason Nordan, Tammy Nordan, Cathy Wooten, Jennifer Davis, Mary Cook, and Amy Parris; four great-grandchildren; her sisters, Doris Starling of Lucama, Beatrice Baker of Kenly, Shelby Batts of Elm City, Edna Bass of Stantonsburg, and her brothers, James Ruffin of Lucama, and David Ruffin of Boston Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Jack Parnell; her daughters, Frances Parris, and Brenda Nordan; her son, David Randolph Parnell; granddaughter, Patricia Parris; her sister, Helen Ruffin, and her brother, Jesse Ruffin.
