Daphne Lamm Page, 94, of Wilson, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, March 25, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Her earthly journey began on May 22, 1922, the first daughter of the late, Richard Conner and Allie Simpson Lamm. She was married to the love of her life, Ashley Carlton “Bert” Page for fifty-eight years until his death in 1999.
She was a lifelong resident of the Lamm’s Crossroads Community and a devout member of Milbournie Free Will Baptist Church. She loved her church and had perfect attendance in Sunday school for a total of fifty years. Daphne was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and Sunday school secretary/treasurer. She loved cooking for church events, and her family. Daphne was known for her homemade coconut cake.
The funeral will be held in the chapel at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson on Tuesday, March 28 at 6 p.m. with visitation following. Rev. Walt Tyndall and Rev. Dr. Billy Toler will officiate. Her graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 29 at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The family will receive friends at other times at 5345 Lamm Road, Wilson.
Daphne was happiest when working in her vegetable and flower gardens, and spending time with her family. She loved competing in the flower and vegetable divisions at the Wilson County Fair, for over thirty years.
Daphne is survived by her loving daughters, Kaye Repass and husband, Doug of Buckhorn, Janet Barnes of Rock Ridge, and Deborah Sutton and husband, Elmer of Elm City; her grandchildren, Todd Repass and wife, Grace, Ashley Barnes and wife, Sandy, Elizabeth Willoughby and husband, Paul Lynn, and Heather Mercer and husband, Craig; her step-grandchildren, Natalie Sutton, Jeremy Sutton, and Doug Smith; great-grandchildren, Hunter Barnes, Ashton Barnes, Kathryn Willoughby, Barnes Willoughby, Madison Mercer, Palyn Mercer, and Colby Sutton, and some very special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ashley “Bert” Page; son-in-law, Charles Lewis Barnes, and her siblings, Alene Strickland, Agnes Winstead, Kathryn Lamm, Fred Lamm, and T.R. Lamm.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to her caregivers, Pat Jones, Linda Speight, Barbara Mason, and the staff of WilMed Hospice of Wilson.
