Dennis Ray Etheridge

July 14, 1946 – January 26, 2022

Dennis Ray Etheridge, 75, of Sims, passed away Wednesday. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Interment will follow in Healthy Plains Church Cemetery. Pastor Joe Shakour will officiate.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 31, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home.

Dennis is survived by his brother, Danny Etheridge of Sims; sister, Marie Dickerson of Loganville, Georgia; sister, Ann Haywood of Newport News, Virginia; niece, Tina Delapenta of Newport News, Virginia; nephews, Robbie Haywood of Florida, and Bobby Haywood, Jr. of Virginia; cousins, Andrew Etheridge and Robert Etheridge of Wilson; cousin, Evie Nichols of Rock Ridge; cousin, Donna Varnell of Wilson and adopted son, Daniel Etheridge of Bunn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Geraldine Etheridge.

Dennis spent much of his time working with the Youth of Wilson County, the organization was near and dear to his heart. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested for consideration of donations to be made in his name to the Youth of Wilson County, 114 Pine Street NE, Wilson, North Carolina, 27893.
