Dianne Wadsworth Jones

Dianne Wadsworth Jones, 75 of Wilson, formerly of Lucama, passed away Friday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2024, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. Pastor Anthony Vahala and Pastor Gary Combs will officiate.

 The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

 Dianne loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ with all her heart and she truly had a servants heart. Her family was so important to her, and her grandchildren brought her so much joy. Dianne loved helping others and making them feel included. She proudly and honorably served in the United States Army. She retired from the Wilson County Health Department and spent most of her time there working in home health.

 Dianne is survived by her daughters, Shannon M. Lamm and husband, Kevin of Elm City, and Jamie M. Vahala and husband, Anthony of the Czech Republic; granddaughters, Sydney Lamm Conway and husband, Austin of Wilson, Hannah Vahala, Rachel Vahala, Sarah Vahala, and Esther Vahala all of the Czech Republic; grandsons, Bennett Gardner Lamm (Jennifer Kitchen) of Elm City, Joshua Vahala, Isaiah Vahala and Samuel Vahala all of the Czech Republic.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Earl Wadsworth and Evelyn Geraldine “Gerry” Summerlin; sisters, Donna Summerlin, and Jacqueline Summerlin, and her brother, Calvin Wadsworth.

 The family would like to thank the staff at Spring Arbor of Wilson, Gentiva Hospice, as well as Jazlyn Moore-Parrish, Elizabeth Parrish, and Miranda Pittman for all of their love, care, and attention given to Dianne.
