Dianne Pridgen
October 30, 1949 – July 5, 2021
Dianne Pridgen, 71 of Sims passed away Monday. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, with the family receiving friends prior from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. Friday morning. Pastor Ingrid Casterlow will officiate.
Dianne was dedicated to helping the children succeed in their educational paths. She was the principal for eleven years at Forestville Road Elementary School in Knightdale. In Wilson, she served as principal at Adams Elementary School, Elm City Elementary School and Springfield Middle School, and as the Director of the Middle Schools for the Central Office and the Director of Curriculum and Assessment for Western Heights Public Schools in Oklahoma. Furthermore, she served as Interim Principal for Carver Elementary, Wendell Middle, Hodge Road Elementary, Lynn Road Elementary, Rogers Lane Elementary, and Fuller Elementary and as interim Assistant Principal for Rogers Lane Elementary, Fuller Elementary, and Durant Road Middle School. Dianne was a great leader in school administration, and she will be missed by her peers for her wisdom and insight.
Dianne is survived by her husband, James Pridgen; son, Brian Pridgen and wife, Sarah; grandsons, Noah Pridgen, Graham Pridgen, E.J. Pridgen, and Isaac Pridgen; niece, Martha Edwards; nephew, Mark Vaughn, and her cousin, Jean Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Relmon and Evelyn Wells Davis, and her sister, Clara Vaughn.
