Donald Marion Edwards July 25, 1937 – July 8, 2017 Donald “Donnie” Marion Edwards, 79, of Wilson passed away Saturday. His funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Darrel Bowles will officiate. The family will receive friends 7 – 8 pm Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home. Donnie is survived by his companion, Joyce F. Boykin of the home; granddaughter, Nicole Brown of Bailey, and his son-in-law Andy Brown of Bailey; sisters, Ann Strickland and husband, Owen of Bailey; Elaine Blizzard of Wilson, Lynda Mew of Wilson, Jenny Ross of Greensboro and Robbie Mills of Spring Hope; and Todd Glover, who he thought of as a son, of Wilson. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Beverly Edwards Brown and his wife, Jane “Tootise” Edwards. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be directed to Hornes United Methodist Church, 145 W.
