Doris J. Best Doris J. Best of Wilson, a devoted wife, mother, and educator departed August 7, 2015. She was born to the late Eddie Lee and Annie Wynn Joyner of Wilson. Doris was an educator in Cumberland, Nash and Wilson counties. Doris is survived by her daughter, Romonia Kornegay-Lewis (Virgil); her sister, Donnie Freeman (Robert); her nieces, Debra Redden and Beverly Freeman (Shawn), and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years, Colonious Best. A celebration of her life will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church, 414 Sunset Road, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The public viewing will be 12 – 5 p.m. on Wednesday and 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Condolences may be directed to www.joyners.net.
