Dorothy Elizabeth Ricks Draper December 24, 1929 – February 8, 2018 Dorothy Elizabeth Ricks Draper, 88, of Elm City passed away Thursday. Her funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gethsemane Independent Baptist Church, 3539 London Church Road, Elm City. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Elm City. The Rev. Johnny Taylor, Rev. Henry Abbott, and Rev. Carol Bradberry will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at 4312 Camellia Drive, Wilson. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Cathy Bass Abbott and husband, Henry of Henderson; her sons, Donnie Bass and wife, Dee of Elm City, David Bass of Elm City, Danny Draper of Elm City, and Jerry Draper of Elm City; twelve grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sons, Bobby Ray Edwards, and William Douglas Bass, Jr.; parents, William Floyd Ricks and Nellie Elizabeth Heath; her sisters, Ellen Mangum, and Estelle Sauls, and her brothers, Carl Ricks, James Ricks, and Junious Ricks.
