Dorothy Carter Hayes June 18, 1929 – July 6, 2018 Dorothy “Dot” Carter Hayes, 89, of Wilson passed away Friday. Her funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday at Evansdale United Methodist Church, 4334 Evansdale Road, Wilson. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. Pastor Bob Rose and Pastor Bobby Fletcher will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 2 – 2:45 p.m. at the at Evansdale United Methodist Church, Wilson and other times at the home of her daughter, Debra Hayes Deans. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Barbara Hayes Pittman and husband, Raymond of Wilson and Debra Hayes Deans and husband, Albert of Wilson; granddaughters, Hope Jenkins and husband, Joey, Kelly Yanez, and Ashley Wooten; grandsons, Robbie Amerson and wife, Joddy and Clay Speight; great-grandchildren, Dustin Bryant, Maggie Amerson Mitchell Amerson and Dominic Yanez; her sister, Bonnie Bailey of Wilson, and several loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward “Tink” Hayes; her daughter, Linda Hayes Wooten; her parents, David Daniel Carter and Neta Walston Carter, and her sisters, Louise Thomas and Pauline Taylor.
