Dorothy Gray Watson Stancil

Dorothy Gray Watson Stancil went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 8.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 12 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home in Wilson, NC and at other times at the home, 6011 Radio Tower Road, Wilson.  A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 12 at 2:30 pm at Maplewood Cemetery in Wilson, NC.  Reverend Ray Wells will officiate.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Cynthia S. Small and Terry Davis and her husband, Tim, both of Wilson; sons, Lonnie P. Stancil, Jr. and his wife, Martha, of Zebulon, and Matthew Stancil and his wife, Becky, of Wilson; special friend, Louis “Red” Sylvester, of New Jersey; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lonnie P. Stancil; her parents, Matthew Watson and Mae Turner Watson; sister, Delores W. Woodburn; brothers, Odell Watson and Merle Watson; and son-in-law, Wilburn Small.  The family would like to thank special friend, Maggie Hill for her care and compassion.
